About the Selec price lists
The Selec price list on this page is its 2024 list, which the cover dates from 6 July 2024 — the newest Selec edition we hold, so ask a seller whether a later revision applies before relying on a rate. Its cover groups the range into industrial automation and process measurement and control. This guide explains both groups and how to read a line.

What the Selec price list covers
The cover names two groups, and most Selec purchases fall into one of them.
The Selec product groups named on the price list cover
| Group | Products on the cover |
|---|---|
| Industrial automation | Micro modular PLCs, modular and fixed I/O PLCs, HMIs, power supplies and AC drives (VFDs) |
| Process measurement and control | PID, temperature, humidity and cooling controllers, process indicators, digital timers and counters, and solid state relays |
Find the group first, then the model. Many Selec controllers share a front-panel size and differ in their inputs and outputs, which is where the price differences come from.
How to read a controller line
For a temperature or PID controller, the model usually encodes the details that decide whether it fits the job:
- Input. The sensor it reads — a thermocouple type, an RTD, or an analog signal.
- Output. Relay, SSR drive or analog, which must suit what the controller switches.
- Supply. The voltage that powers the controller.
- Size. The front-panel size and cut-out, commonly 48 × 48, 72 × 72 or 96 × 96 mm.
- Extras. Alarm outputs, communication and other options added to the base model.
Two controllers with the same display and different codes can read different sensors or drive different outputs, so compare the full model, not the description.
PLCs, HMIs and drives
For automation products, price the complete set rather than the headline unit. A PLC's price depends on its I/O count and expansion modules; an HMI on its screen size and communication; an AC drive on its kW rating, supply phases and options. A quotation for a PLC without the expansion modules, programming cable or power supply the panel needs is not comparable with one that includes them.
Timers, counters and solid state relays
For digital timers and counters, specify the function, the range, the supply voltage and the output. For solid state relays, specify the load current and voltage, the control signal, and how the relay will be cooled: an SSR running near its rating needs a heat sink, which is often a separate line. Our post on the 20 most used electrical components lists what to specify for timers and control relays.
Timer and counter, or a small PLC?
The list covers both ends of control, and choosing between them is often the biggest saving on a panel. A sequence of two or three fixed steps — a delay, a count, an alarm — is usually cheaper and simpler with dedicated timers and counters, and easier for a maintenance electrician to understand. Once the logic grows, needs changing on site, or must report to a supervisory system, a micro PLC with an HMI tends to cost less than the stack of timers, relays and wiring it replaces. Price both ways for a panel near that line, including the wiring and the programming time.
Working from an older edition
The Selec list on this page is older than most here. A rate built on it may no longer hold, so treat it as a guide to the range and to relative prices, and ask for a current quotation before you budget. If a seller quotes on a newer edition, ask for its date and keep it with the quotation. Our post on switchgear price increases explains how a new edition changes quotations already in hand.
Price basis, GST and genuine products
Check the terms in the list for its price basis. A list price is normally before GST, which is added to the net rate; an MRP includes all taxes. Buy through Selec's authorised channel, and check the model, marking and invoice trail of what arrives against our guide to verifying genuine switchgear. For timers and control relays from another maker, see the EAPL price list, and for meters the Elmeasure list.
Questions about the Selec price list
Where can I download the Selec price list PDF?
On this page. The Selec list, which its cover dates from 6 July 2024, is the card above and opens the maker's PDF in a new tab.
Is this the latest Selec price list?
It is the newest Selec edition we hold. Ask a seller whether a later revision applies, and get a current quotation before you budget.
Does the Selec price list include VFDs and PLCs?
Yes. AC drives, PLCs, HMIs and power supplies are in the industrial automation group named on the cover.
What do I need to specify for a temperature controller?
The sensor input, the output type, the supply voltage, the front-panel size and any alarms or communication. Each changes the model and the price.
What is a solid state relay?
A relay that switches its load electronically, with no moving contacts, so it suits loads switched often, such as heaters under temperature control. It needs to be sized for the load current and usually cooled by a heat sink.
